Origin and Development

The KRAB has its origins in Poland and was primarily developed by Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) in collaboration with BAE Systems and other contractors. The aim was to create a modern artillery system that could meet the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.

Main Components

The KRAB combines a modified chassis of the PT-91 Twardy battle tank with a turret equipped with a 155 mm cannon, which is a variant of the British AS-90 cannon.

Firepower Capability

The KRAB’s 155 mm howitzer has a maximum range of approximately 40 kilometers using rocket-assisted ammunition and is capable of firing both standard NATO projectiles and precision-guided munitions.

Mobility

Mounted on a battle tank chassis, the KRAB has good mobility on the battlefield, allowing it to move quickly and change position to avoid enemy fire.

Operational Deployment

The KRAB was designed to meet the requirements of modern military operations, providing long-range and high-precision fire support for combined arms units.
